The Commons Muizenberg - South African Tour

Clara Montocchio is an Austrian singer-songwriter with South African roots. Her deeply metaphorical writing is steeped in personal history, telling stories of connection and yearning (in English and her mother tongue Afrikaans). With a voice that oscillates between warm earthy tones and iridescent clarity, she weaves folk-pop landscapes filled with poetry and emotionally charged improvisation. She is joined on tour by long-time musical companions Andi Tausch (guitar) and Gregor Aufmesser (bass) as well as local special guests Wilken Calitz (violin) and Damian Kamineth (drums). Together they will present a special program of original compositions, jazz standards and European folk songs. Clara’s debut solo album My Vreemde Kind („My Strange Child“) is set to be released fall 2024.
